{"id":1509,"date":"2018-11-13T11:11:26","date_gmt":"2018-11-13T10:11:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/covertcabin.com\/?p=1509"},"modified":"2018-11-15T17:17:53","modified_gmt":"2018-11-15T16:17:53","slug":"time-travelling-at-le-roc-branlant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/covertcabin.com\/fr\/time-travelling-at-le-roc-branlant\/","title":{"rendered":"Time Travelling at Le Roc Branlant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&rsquo;ve a strong<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1519 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/covertcabin.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/DSCF4325-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/> liking for big rocks, I&rsquo;ve a strong liking for old postcards, so I was thrilled when I found some old postcards\u00a0featuring a big rock that I knew well.\u00a0 The Roc Branlant, or the wobbly rock, (no sniggering at the back there, you school boy French speakers) is not far from us, in a village called St Est\u00e8phe.\u00a0 It&rsquo;s a lovely walk up through the forest to its resting place, at the end of jumble of huge, flat boulders, deposited by some fancy glacial action a long time ago.\u00a0 The rock itself is a mighty 3m high and is balanced just so, so that it&rsquo;s possible to\u00a0wobble the rock without much effort.\u00a0 I&rsquo;m fascinated to think about who first discovered\u00a0the rock\u00a0could move and how through the generations, people have walked up, touched the rock, pushed it, wobbled it,\u00a0shoved something breakable under it!\u00a0 Over the years many legends have formed around the rock and its neighbouring stones which are called the &lsquo;Devil&rsquo;s Rosary&rsquo;.
